Glacier, Meet Snail

I’m not trying to win any races, but slow and steady does work. (Or in this case, slowness hasn’t been a negative trait.) The painting in question, this detail of which, photographed in the dim twilight, at an angle and sideways, has been in stasis for 7 years. I thought it was done, wired it, and titled it “You Either Do Or You Don’t” – the second usage of that Lindsey Buckingham song for a title of one of my paintings, at least – but never felt truly satisfied. It remained unframed and in hiding.

I don’t think I like it now, but for different reasons. It’s not done, but what I’m doing now has finally caught up to it, in some odd way. Glad I kept it around, but under wraps. I’ve been looking at it for a few days and am ready to bring it on home.
