Art is a bronco that bucks me every minute of every day. I’ve been drawing things since as far back as I can remember, but drifted back into abstract painting in 2001 after going back to college for a belated Fine Arts degree. There was also a good period of time during which I played music with musicians several degrees more talented than myself. I’ll always be grateful for their indulgence. So for now, it’s back in the ring for another swing, whenever life, depression, and anxiety allow. Which is more and more, as I get tired of the self-inflicted BS. I also sell these paintings and suchlike every now and then; 10% of those sales have in the past and will henceforth always go to leftist charities for things involving human rights and the environment. 1. Hi Kurt,

I saw your wonderful painting “meet again” at CAP, where I was wondering around, drink in hand, checking out the art—and waiting for a bid on my painting. I am a member at Gallery 114, a coop gallery in the Pearl. I just wanted to pass on, in case you might be interested, that we are open now to new members. As a coop, there are monthly dues and gallery-staffing duties, but we also offer something rare that I have come to cherish: Total artistic freedom and camaraderie with a group of wonderful and creative people. I realize that your other commitments might interfere with coop membership, but please pass this on to any artists that you think might be interesting. All the information on applying is on our website gallery114.org. I would be glad to answer any questions you might have.

    Thank you for your art.

    David Slader
