Core Artist Statement

In the past my artist’s statements have touched on the idea that my work combines childhood joys, wonder, and kids’ connection to the scary, mystical side of things that we lose touch with as we age.

The truth is … (and this both should have been obvious to me and was a long time coming) … the truth is the childhood joys were the moments that I stole, and the scary side was the terror in which I grew up. All art is political, and it’s all deeply personal and this has all been about growing up in fear.
