Kurt Dahlke takes the ‘discipline’ out of multi-disciplinary artist. Dahlke remembers loving to draw from back when he was in preschool if not before. This continued until he was in his teens when he started playing music as well, culminating in a detour from art for a few years of playing in Portland Oregon bands. After the bands, Dahlke began writing about movies, music, and art. Who knows what he is doing now?
Dahlke’s work constitutes currently two streams: multimedia works on Yupo plastic papers, and multimedia on joint compound on panel. Both streams involve combining elements of time, chance, and studied formal composition to create works of disorienting confusion and beauty.
